One of todays Robins 22nd October
Got up at 6.30am debating to go to work or ringing winds good
S to SE lite 1/2, with mist and low cloud and very damp work
won finshed work at 14.30 and weather a little better i went up
to Jerbourg. Open up six net, good number of migrant's held
back with the weather.managed to ring twenty four birds
2 Chiffchaff 8 Robins 1 Black bird 4 Linnets 5 Song thrush 4 Chaffinch, In a hour half
Ringing in Guernsey started soon after the war and is continuing today in Guernsey there are 6 lisence ringers and 2 trainees Jersey has 2 ringers and 1 trainee with no ringers in Alderny at the present time with the Channel Island ringing scheme covering the whole of the Channel Islands we have 2 colour ringing projects.

October 20th Jerbourg at 7.00 open 7 nets with good winds from the N/E 2/3
and good visible passage of birds, mainly Thrushes, Finches,some Skylarks with
woodpigeons, and a thousand + swallows. Phil turned up at 7.30 we do the first round
off the nets, in three hours we rung forty birds 19 Linnets 6 swallows 4 black caps
1 great tit 1 black bird 1chiffchaff 5 goldcrest 1 firecrest 1 wren 1 goldfinch a good
three hours
